Ira McCauley
Veterinarian/Owner Dr. Ira McCauley graduated from MU Veterinary school in 1995. After graduation he worked as a mixed animal veterinarian in Higginsville, MO. In 1997 he went to work for The Animal Emergency Clinic in Lees Summit, MO as a full time staff veterinarian, but also performed relief work at numerous hospitals in the Kansas City area. During this time frame, his brother, Aaron, had entered veterinary school and a decision was made that they would endeavor to operate a practice together in the future. In 2000, Ira moved to the St. Louis area and the McCauley brothers purchased New Melle Animal Hospital. In 2001, sister clinic, McCauley Animal Clinic, was opened in Weldon Spring. Dr. Ira enjoys the interaction with clients and pets in both of the practices. His main area of focus is surgery and sporting dogs. He also owns a waterfowling products manufacturing business named MOmarsh, Inc. Dr. Ira lives in Defiance, MO with his wife Kellie. They have 2 sons--Kory and Quinn who are a full time job, and then some, for Kellie. They have a mutt, "Trixie", a Dachshund named "Lucy", and Labrador Retriever, "Cash" who loves to retrieve and get into trouble. |
Aaron McCauley
Veterinarian/Owner Dr. Aaron McCauley is an MU graduate who received his BS in Animal Science in 1994 and Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1998. He began working for a 7 doctor practice in St. Louis that he had worked for throughout high school and college. To gain additional experience, he worked for the Animal Emergency Clinic in St. Louis and St. Charles for 2 years. In 2000, Aaron and his brother Ira purchased and began operating New Melle Animal Hospital in New Melle, MO. Shortly thereafter, in 2001, the brothers decided to open a sister clinic, McCauley Animal Clinic in Weldon Spring. Dr. Aaron lives in Chesterfield, MO with his daughter, Poppy, and wife, Lisa, and enjoys drawing, photography, and playing outdoors with his black lab, "Boudin" and mutt, "Boo". |
Mike Hoffman
Associate Veterinarian Dr. Mike Hoffman was born and raised in the St. Louis area. He returned to St. Louis after graduating from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. He joined McCauley Animal Clinic directly after graduation and continues to practice here full-time. His particular interests include endocrinopathy, infectious diseases, and strengthening the human-animal bond. Dr. Mike lives in O'Fallon, Missouri with his wife, Gina. They have a daughter, Emma, and two sons, Alex and Aiden along with a golden retriever, Cooper . They enjoy attending sporting events, playing disc golf, and spending time with friends and family. |
Michelle Cutt
Associate Veterinarian Dr. Michelle Cutt joined McCauley Animal Clinic in April 2012. She graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. After graduation, she began small animal practice in the St. Louis area. In 2000, she accepted a position with Hill's Pet Nutrition. There she served as a consulting veterinarian and spent much of her tenure teaching nutrition to veterinarians and their staff in 8 states. Dr. Michelle has presented nutrition lectures for the veterinary students of the University of Missouri and University of Illinois, the Arkansas Veterinary Medical Association, and numerous regional veterinary associations in 4 states. She continued to practice veterinary relief work during her 11.5 year employment with Hill's Pet Nutrition. She enjoys complimenting medical and surgical care with nutritional management. Dr. Michelle also enjoys photography in her spare time (see examples of her work in the clinic!). |
Sarah Bonstead
Associate Veterinarian Dr. Sarah Bonstead is a 1994 graduate of the University of Missouri with a B.S. in Animal Science. She received her DVM from Mizzou's College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. Dr. Sarah has practiced veterinary medicine in several multi-doctor practices. She has special interests in dermatology and end of life quality care, and loves kitty challenges! Dr. Sarah was born and raised in St.Louis (Parkway Central for you St. Louis natives), and has lived in St.Charles since graduation. Dr. Sarah has three naughty cats, two Jack "Rascal Terrorists", "Dr. Kevin Novak" and "Eddie", salt and fresh water aquariums, and hands-down, the most spoiled red ear slider turtle, "McCormick"! In her free time, Dr. Sarah enjoys photography, flying kites and traveling the world--ask her where she has ventured to lately! |
Victoria Siebert
Associate Veterinarian Dr. Victoria Siebert, otherwise known as "Tori", joined us in March 2021. Victoria received her B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in January of 2021 following completion of her clinical year at the University of Missouri. During her clinical year, she completed a preceptorship at McCauley Animal Clinic. Her special areas of interest include dentistry, surgery, endocrinopathies, and cardiology. Dr. Victoria lives in St. Charles with her husband Tommy, and their two energetic black cats, Finn and Fiji. In her free time, she enjoys interior design, traveling, camping, and rock climbing. Christine Nagel
Associate Veterinarian Dr. Christine Nagel has her B.S. in Biology and B.A. in Anthropology from Northern Illinois University. She is a 2011 graduate of University of Missouri School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed a small animal internship at Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan. Dr. Nagel has work experience at the former Midwest Veterinary Referral Center, a local small animal medicine veterinary clinic, and worked at an Emergency Clinic for a year prior to joining our team. Since 2020, she has been providing occasional relief work to our associates. As our "same day illness" needs increased throughout the pandemic, we felt the need to expand her role at the clinic. Dr. Nagel now serves a special integral role for McCauley Animal Clinic in seeing pets that need diagnostics and treatment immediately. She shares her home with an American Eskimo dog, Isis, and two cats, Anouk and Napoleon. Her hobbies include music production, participating in triathlons (she trains for Ironman competitions!), and spending time with friends and family. |
Shannon
Hospital Manager Shannon grew up in the St. Charles County area since middle school. Her passion has always been animals and animal care. As a single mom at the time she put herself through college and graduated with a Bachelors in Biology from UMSL in 2010. She has been a veterinary technician for over 20 years and joined our practice back in 2012. After 10 years of being a part of our #MACPACK family, she was promoted to Hospital Manager in August 2022. In her very little free time she enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends. Taking walks and listening/dancing to music of all genres. She is married and has 6 kids (four of which are her 2 nieces and 2 nephews), 1 dog and 2 cats for the moment. She looks forward to new adventures and challenges.

Skyler
Receptionist/Client Care Skyler joined the McCauley team in April off 2022. She enjoys working with large animals and would like to become a veterinary technician. She has a Bull Terrier named, "Weston", and a Boston Terrier named, "Sammy", along with two ferrets named, "Rip" and "Casey". Skyler enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her boyfriend in the race car scene. Skyler has a get it done type of attitude and doesn't mind getting hands on in any situation. |
Debbie
Client Care Specialist What better compliment than a client who wants to come work for you? Debbie has been a client at McCauley Animal Clinic since 2012. In 2016 she mentioned to Dr. Cutt that she was retired, but still wanted to work, and could think of no better place to offer her awesome customer service skills! In March 2017, Debbie became part of our team to help deliver exceptional customer experiences. Debbie has over 40 years of sales and customer service experience. She loves talking to people and meeting their pets, and imparts an uncanny warmth to our clients. Debbie enjoys spending time with her 9 grandkids, and interior decorating when she can find the time. |
Madison
Client Care/Surgical Scheduling Specialist Madison started working for us on Saturdays in February 2017, but we have known her from a wee child! She is the daughter of Pam, our technician. So, Madison knows a thing or two about pets and animal medical care having grown up immersed in it! We are lucky to have her as a staff with both client care and veterinary technical experience. She is an integral part of our team that handles a lot of our client correspondence and surgical scheduling through phone calls and emailing. |
Pam
Lead Veterinary Technician Pam splits her work time between New Melle Animal Hospital and McCauley Animal Clinic. She has been working for the McCauley brothers since 2001. She received her BS in biology from the University of Missouri St. Louis. While working 11 years in emergency animal medicine she met the McCauley brothers. She has been a veterinary technician for almost 30 years, and has the unique ability of relating equally with clients and their pets. Pam and her husband Tracy reside on their property in Troy with one of their daughters, Madi, also employed at McCauley Animal Clinic. Their other daughter Katarina lives out of state while her husband is in the US Navy. Their pet menagerie consists of 6 dogs: "Buster" the Jack Russell, "Shifter" the Golden, "Bear" the Aussie , "Pixie" the Cocker Mix, "Murphy" the Bernese Mountain Dog and "Ellie" the Australian Shepherd. They also have 5 rescued cats: Katniss, Primm, Peeta, Lizzy and Izzy. Pam is known for her chick obsession. She has two turkeys and 20+ chickens. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her chickens, gardening or riding the Harley. |
Paige
Assistant Lead Veterinary Technician Paige joined our team July of 2017, and comes with both veterinary technical and customer service experience. She graduated from the Vet Tech Institute at Hickey College in May 2015, and worked at three other veterinary hospitals after graduating before joining McCauley Animal Clinic. We are so thrilled to have a team member that could "hit the ground running", helping interact with our clients with a knowledgeable veterinary background! Paige has an amazing amount of patience in stressful situations, and brings a sense of calm to those she's around. Paige enjoys hanging out with her friends and family, doing crafts and watching movies. She has a black and white kitty named Poe whom she adores. |
Jennifer
Veterinary Technician Jennifer has been a Vet Tech since the summer of 2000, a year after graduating high school in Troy, Missouri. Joining the McCauley team in the spring of 2017. It wasn't an easy decision to leave the practice she grew up in for 17 years, but the move was exactly what she needed to grow from a single doctor practice in a rural area to a multi doctor practice in "the city". Making the hour commute to work each morning is well worth it to be able to work in such an amazing community. "Getting to know the clients here at McCauley and being intrusted with the health and well being of their precious babies is an absolute honor" Jen has been married to her wonderful husband Ben since April 2007 and welcomed their baby girl Olivia in November of 2009 and their baby boy Barrett in September of 2012. They extended their family with 4 dogs and 3 cats, "Mina" a blue Australian Cattle Dog, "Halo" a silver Pitbull, "Eleven" a brindle Great Dane, "Banner" a fawn English Mastiff, "Everett" a brown tabby/white mediumhair kitty, "Nugget" a buff longhair kitty, and "Lloyd" their outside orange tabby cat. The family loves playing with all their fur babies, vacationing together at the beach, playing board games and watching movies. They have a love of all things Jeep with a 1984 CJ7 and a 2016 4-door Rubicon they take on trail rides in Missouri, Colorado and Utah. Amber
Veterinary Surgical Technician Amber started with us back in August of 2013 and has had quite the journey ever since! Having graduated college with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice while she was with us, she left for a time to pursue a career at a law firm. Just a couple years later, we welcomed her back to McCauley with open arms as she stated, 'this is where my heart is." Amber resides in St. Charles with her fiancé, three dogs, two cats, and a rabbit. Amber's sense of humor and outgoing personality make's the clinic a fun place to work at! |
Angelique
Veterinary Surgical Technician Angelique joined the McCauley Team in 2018 and has been working in animal care and the veterinary field for 27 years, 23 of those as a technician. She currently works alongside Dr. Aaron McCauley as a surgical technician. Angelique has enjoyed technician roles within general practice, emergency, and internal medicine. She enjoys high-risk and internal medicine cases, as well as formulating anesthesia plans tailored to the needs of the patient. She lives in St. Charles County with her husband and 4 cats (Wicket, Phillip, George, and Emmett). She enjoys time with her adult son, traveling, quiet time, and tending to her house plants. |
Melissa
Veterinary Technician Melissa was a zoo keeper for 7 years. Her main department was big cats and she was also cross trained in birds, reptiles, and small mammals. She is a graduate from Tom Rose School for Professional Dog Trainers. Melissa enjoys being out in the woods and foraging for wild mushrooms and plants. She also raises peacocks outside of work. She is a member of Three Creek Bassett’s and they go hunting every Sunday with a pack of 10+hounds. She has been a veterinary technician for 4 years in small animal practice. |
Mathis
Veterinary Technician Mathis joined our team in April of 2021. She comes with a background in emergency medicine after graduating from her veterinary technician program in January of 2020. Prior to her vet tech career she worked in the Intelligence Field in the United States Air Force for 7 years. In her free time she enjoys playing piano, reading and going out on adventures with her husband and 2 children. She has 2 dogs named Kaladin and Tael, along with 2 cats named Nibbler and Winston. |
Kristyn
Treatment Technician Kristyn joined our team at the beginning of 2021 and works here full time. She received her AS in Biology and plans to further her education to become a registered DVM. She has always had a great love for animals and is excited to meet your fur babies! At home she has a black lab and fawnequin Great Dane. Kristyn enjoys hiking, four wheeling, and spending time with friends and family. |
Chelsea
Treatment Technician Chelsea joined the MACPACK in October of 2021. She is currently attending Lindenwood University, studying B.S. Pre-Veterinary Medicine. She plans to further pursue Veterinary Medicine to become a registered Veterinarian. She enjoys horse back riding, running, and spending time with her family and fur babies. She currently owns two chocolate labrador retrievers, "Dawg" and "Maudie", along with a terrier mix named, "Honey". |
